The VICE TOUR
To create a touring-focused ski, Calgary-based Paradise started with its all-mountain Vice and then lightened it up with paulownia wood, two strips of aluminum, multiple layers of carbon fibre and a premium polyethylene sidewall material. No surprise, these are a nice weight on the skin track. With a fair bit of tip rocker and a shallower but nearly as long tail rocker, the Vice Tourfloated in powderbetter than its 105mm waist would suggest. In tight trees and technical terrain, it wasquick and forgiving. What surprised us was howsmooth and powerful it was. Rather than the flighty feeling we’ve come to expect from carbon touring skis, this ski was planted and smooth, even in hard resort snow. “Impressive edge hold and not just for a touring ski,” said Ryan Stuart. “You never know what you’re going to find in the backcountry and this ski feels like it will never leave you stranded.”

Winnie the Pooh's pal Tigger would love this ski. Almost every tester included the words "bouncy" or "playful" on their comment card. If you like to pop off every little roll, smear every wind feature and turn the whole hill into a playground, you'll find this ski just as charming as Tigger.

THE VICE 105
"Long lasting" was one of tester Cedric Deis's first thoughts after a couple of laps on the middle ski in the vice family. And it skis nicely too, bouncing through soft and chopped-up snow, weaving tight lines through the bumps and carving better than testers expected. "Surprisingly easy to turn on hard-packed groomers," says Louise Draper. For cruising around the hill, turning through whatever mother nature threw at us, it was a friendly and adaptable companion.

The VICE 113
The word fun sums up feedback on the widest ski in Calgary-based Paradise's lineup. The Vice 113 has a poplar-and-bamboo wood core, carbon fibre sheers, and polyurethane side walls. It has a fairly lightweight build and a stiff flex. Lighter skiers had to pick up speed to bend these boards, while heavier and stronger skiers found them turny and nimble. The ski was easy to weave through the bumps, and on soft groomers it edged like a much narrower ski. "Quick, maneuverable and bomb-proof," said Zak Norman. At Backcountry Snowcats, the more energy testers put into the ski, the more it came alive. Steve Draper was sold: "For a fat ski it has it all," he said. "Ski of the day."

The VICE TOUR
Strong and playful are certainly words that apply to the VICE TOUR.With excellent edge hold, forgiving tip, tail flex and an excellent ratio of rocker/climber, the VICE TOUR is exceptionally playful while maintaining enough dampness to ride well in a variety of conditions. Designed with an all-mountain unisex shape, you may think you have wandered onto yet another pair of generic skis from a major market brand but rest assured - the VICE TOUR packs enough subtle innovation and fine-tuned ski design to put a smile on your face every time, even in icy bumps.

THE ALOHA
Calgary-based Paradise designed the ALOHA as a park ski for its freeride athletes. It's a twintip with a nearly symmetrical shape and flex pattern to enable predictable switch skiing and landings. It's a little stiffer in the tip and tail than most dedicated park skis, which reduces its ability to butter, but increases stability when landing big tricks, said Paradise. And it'sbuilt tough, with a full polyurethane sidewall, beefy edges, an extra thick, scratch-resistant topsheet, and carbon stringers to back up the poplar and bamboo woodcore. The upshot is that the ski works great in the park but also rips around the rest of the mountain. The ALOHA "wants to go straight on the groomers," said Jennifer Crabtree."It's great off-piste in the steeps and bumps and handles well through crud."Technical editor Ryan Stuart also had trouble getting them to carve, but when he let them slide and smear they were a good time. "Poppy and playful everywhere," he said. "Once I figured them out, I had a really fun time."

The FLAMINGO
I have accumulated a small collection of about 5 boards now that I swap through during the season depending on conditions. I've been so impressed with the FLAMINGO that it's now my favourite snowboard and the one I would keep if I have to get rid of all the rest.
I find myself riding faster and harder just due to the board feeling so good underfoot.THIS THING WANTS TO RIP! The flex is a great balance of playful yet solid and the overall camber profile gives you that quick response from your edges you want when going fast or landing big airs.

The FLAMINGO SPLIT.
I've had a really good time on this board. Paradise has put the Phantom Hercules fasteners for their tips and tails, and I find that that gives such a clean connection for riding. This board performed incredibly well in trees and chundery snow & ice where I needed to catch an edge. It was nimble and fun in those spaces.
It's incredibly lightweight. I found it unusually easy on the legs on the skin tour and up track - it felt like there was almost nothing on my feet.It has an especially good use for a multi-day tour trip where weight adds up to a lot of leg fatigue. One of the things that I think is probably one of the best features on this board is that it has what they call their anti-ice top sheet. Their anti-ice top sheet almost never held any snow... Again, on multi-day tours or Alpine-style missions, that saves a lot of leg fatigue.
Also, for someone who wants an everyday slack country banger, this is a great deck.
Alpine-style missions, tours, slack country, this board will perform very well. Overall, I really like this deck... I like what they do with the decals and bright logos, it stands out and performs very well.
